Where you fix your compasses?

I was looking for a job. The options are many; though rarely anything suits my needs. I do have a good qualification from a renowned university with good marks and also have a post-qualification experience relevant to my work area. However, I have a problem because of the positioning of my life compasses. I realized this only recently and wanted to share with you so that you can check where you have fixed your compasses. 

My compasses are fixed in the family. I am family person and everything is decided with the compasses fixed on the family. This makes my choices for a job limited. When the job demands me to be away from the family for too long, it fails to attract me; when it tries to snap the time I have with my family, it disinterests me. The job is required so that the family is good and happy. The achievements in the job is (and must be translated into) the happiness in the family. 

Conversely, my friend is having his compasses fixed in the profession. Naturally, he has more opportunities in terms of job. However, he had his own preferences there. But, since the focus (or the compasses) is on the profession, rather than the family to which he belongs, the decisions are basically made in accordance with the profession. The family naturally gets a beating. But, he has scaled more heights in his professional career.

Everyone is unique and has the freedom to choose. Check your choice and understand the status.

The reality is you cannot have both at the best. You can re-draw the circles if you want.
